With magnificent architecture, excellent service and old world charm, coupled with all the excitement, variety, energy and action required by a new generation, Kelvin Grove Club is the perfect location to hold a wedding, special dinner, business lunch, reception, and birthday party or anniversary celebration as we can provide the perfect private setting.
Our capacity range is vast, ranging from a 10-seater conference room to the elegant Ballroom suitable for grand occasions such as a formal dinner for up to 350 guests or a conference in cinema setup for 400 delegates. Please view our Room Configurations for further details.
We have over 1200 square meters of space in private function rooms, which can accommodate from 12 to 400 guests in several configurations of rooms and seating. All Kelvin Grove’s function facilities are available for members and non-members to use. Members however receive favourable rates. If you would like to book one of these venues for your function / banquet please enquire.
Sports Pavilion
Located between 2 sports fields and views over Table Mountain, the openness of the modern and elegant design will make you feel relaxed during a stressful conference and awestruck when the room is set up for a wedding or a celebration.
We have recently installed blackout blinds for the occasions of using Power Point Presentations, which proves to be very popular.

Should you prefer a more intimate wedding, dinner or smaller meeting room we have other venues that we would be able to accommodate you.

The Grill Room
This elegant and gracious venue with attached balconies is used as a function room and is very popular as an upmarket entertainment area, with a view that overlooks the pool area and provides spectacular vistas of Table Mountain.
The Grill Room can be adapted to serve buffet meals and host dinner dances. There is a small sprung dance floor and a stage to accommodate a band or disco, the room has its own private bar and spacious lounge entrance, perfect for pre-dinner cocktails.
The Palmyra Room
Situated above the Ballroom, the Palmyra Room is used for a variety of functions and is very popular as a venue for small and intimate dinner/dances, business lunches and small weddings.
The Palmyra Room with its own private balcony overlooking the fountain and Kelvin’s immaculate gardens can be used in conjunction with the Ballroom.
This venue is very popular with conference organisers.
The Brodie Suite
In the original part of the Manor House is the popular Brodie Suite, named after John Brodie, a previous owner of Kelvin Grove.
The suite consists of three luxuriously appointed rooms namely: The Brodie, The Oakview and The Mariendahl rooms which can be used as one venue or as individual smaller venues for dinner/cocktail parties, meetings & wedding receptions, served luncheons and or dinners.
All three rooms have access to a balcony overlooking the famous Kelvin gardens.
The Ballroom
The famous Ballroom, completed in 1934, features Austrian Crystal chandeliers and timeless elegance. It also prides itself on having the biggest sprung dance floor in Cape Town, if not South Africa.
The Ballroom consists of an elegant room with an Ante Room that can be used for cocktails & canapés prior to the function. It has a stage and a balcony with sweeping staircases on both sides, from where the bride and groom can make a grand entrance. It’s the perfect venue for everyone who enjoys special occasions on a grand scale!
The Ballroom is ideal for up to 400 delegates for conferences, presentations, board meetings, team building and celebrations. The room can be divided into partitions to suit smaller meetings and events.
